Trend Report: Hot Colors for Fall

What is it about August that always makes us yearn for all things fall? You know what we mean: pumpkin spice everything and low maintenance hair are at the top of our list! Since we’ve got fall on the brain, we might as well talk about the upcoming trends in hair color. Think lower maintenance and warmer looks, and you’ll be on the right track!

Golden brunette balayage. This look is an easy way to seamlessly transition your existing highlights into fall, just keep the lifted strands towards the ends of the hair. Using a bronze tone for highlights on a dark brunette base creates a warm gold hue to give the hair instant dimension.

Rooted citrine blonde. Already a blonde? Subtly-rooted yellow and gold tones will be especially on-trend this fall. Rather than remain bright blonde all year, more and more blondes are opting for a rooted look. It’s lower maintenance than single-process, yet the effect is still bright. Plus, those pretty golden, buttery tones are gorgeous when transitioning from summer to fall.

Gingerbread caramel. Warm red and copper hair isn't necessarily new this autumn, but the 2019 take is a world away from bold, pumpkin-spice tones. The warm tones are rooted in a soft brown-meets-red for a warm, rich depth to the hair. This subtle warmth of the hair can keep your cheeks looking rosy and your skin glowing through the darker months.

Blended ombre. The ombré coloring technique will edge back into hair color trends this fall, especially on bangs. Known affectionately as a bangin' highlight, it uses a blended ombré technique to complement the natural hair color and the fall of the bangs. This technique works on any base color as long as your colorist starts the brightness just underneath the bangs.
