Why Should I get a Pedicure?

We all know that getting a pedicure is a great way to feel relaxed and pampered, but did you know they also come with some excellent health benefits as well? Taking care of your feet should always be a priority, I mean, they carry us throughout our lives! A pedicure is an excellent way to show your feet some love, as well as provide the following:

Decreased infections. Trimming and cleansing the toenails prevents them from growing inward and causing infections. The elimination of dirt and bacteria from your feet will also help prevent fungi and foot odors.

Exfoliation. Regular exfoliation will prevent dead skin cells from accumulating and creating bunions or corns, which can be uncomfortable and painful. The removal of the dead skin on your feet, especially on the heel, will encourage new cell growth and help your feet to become smoother and more attractive.

Increased circulation. Arguably the most enjoyable part of the salon pedicure, the included massage will help to promote circulation and relieve tension in the calves and feet. Increasing your blood circulation can also help to reduce pain and distribute heat evenly throughout your body.

Moisturization. A spa pedicure includes soaks in warm water and massages with oils and lotions that will moisturize your feet. Moisturized feet are less likely to get blisters, cracks, or other foot problems. It is also important to keep your cuticles moisturized to prevent nails from growing out with ridges or split ends which can cause them to lift out of the nail beds and become painful.

Regular pedicures will not only help keep your feet looking pretty, they’ll also keep your nails trimmed, calluses controlled, and skin moisturized. In addition, a foot massage will help to relieve tension and stimulate circulation. Right now, you can treat yourself to a FREE mani with a Spa Pedicure at TRU Salon + Spa!
